The British Geological Survey (“BGS”) has submitted a planning application to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the Cheshire Energy Research Field Site

The proposed development consists of a network of 14 sites with 50 boreholes and associated above ground infrastructure, plus a Main Telemetry Mast site. The boreholes would facilitate observation of, and research into, the subsurface environment and would contain scientific instrumentation for monitoring and observation.

7 of these sites are on land which is owned by Peel Land and Property either on the consented Protos (previously named Ince Resource Recovery Park) or on land just on its periphery. These are Sites, A, B, C, F, K, L, and N.
