A core member of the Protos team has been hailed as a rising star of the property industry at a prestigious set of national awards.
Development Surveyor Lois Kay has been recognised in the British Property Federation’s Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards. Having worked for Peel Environmental since 2013, Lois has been a key player in the delivery of Protos, Peel’s flagship destination for energy, innovation and industry near Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire.
She came runner up in the community engagement category for her work over the years to keep the surrounding communities updated and informed. She’s also played a pivotal role in the day-to-day transformation of the site, as work to deliver the Phase One infrastructure reaches completion and construction of the biomass facility continues.
Lois Kay said:
“I was thrilled to be recognised amongst some of the biggest property organisations in the UK. It has been fascinating to play a part in the transformation of the Protos destination. We pride ourselves on the way we update and work with both our neighbours and development partners, so it is a real privilege to be noted in this category.”
Lois studied Geography at Lancaster University before going on to gain a masters degree in Urban Regeneration and Development from the University of Manchester.
Jane Gaston, Development Director at Protos, said:
“We’re thrilled for Lois. She’s committed, driven and a real team player so it is no surprise to us that she’s been hailed as one to watch by the British Property Federation. We’re proud of the work we’ve achieved so far at Protos, but this is just the start of what will be a long-term transformation of the destination – and no doubt a successful career for Lois at the heart of the project.”
An official Northern Powerhouse partner, Protos was officially opened early this year by the Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy MP and has been recognised as one of 12 strategic projects driving investment into the North of England.
